What if you had a spy watching everything you do, 24/7, without digital tools, and for a single purpose: to record your credit card details and Bitcoin wallet passwords.

Astral espionage: a new financial security threat

What if they were undetectable to everyone but trained operators?

We should be alarmed. And ready to take action.

This could have a significant impact on day to day financial interactions. Banks could lose billions overnight if attackers launched a botnet attack.

The projected impact of clandestine espionage or eavesdropping on global day to day financial transactions could be staggering. It is possible to run thousands, or even millions of minor charge transactions on a series of banks via proxy digital banking companies.

The primary M.O. is suspected to be the creation of small charges over a series of accounts, most likely lists of cloned or lifted credit card details. Major players could be employing systems of thousands of cards. To put this into perspective, using a list of 5000 cards with transaction amounts of 10 dollar produces $50 000. Not a small amount of money.

These minor $10 charges could turn into thousand dollar charges quite easily if the exploiter is looking for an exit strategy. Make sure your bank takes insurance seriously.

All of this is made more difficult by employing a simple feature such as one-time-pins, using the primary secondary (secured) mobile phone to receive the one-time-pin.

Better yet, switch all your accounts to savings accounts without digital transaction capability and employ a credit card or temporary checking account to transfer funds from your savings account to your online payments account.

It’s easy to lose money quickly if you don’t secure your online transaction cards, no matter who may be watching your wallet. Astral espionage gives spies unprecedented access to your belongings such as wallet, identity documents, etc and can even perceive what you see with your own eyes.
